Influenced heavily by the revival of early 90s post-hardcore and modern day post-punk, this Texas punk outfit is harnessing their own explosive sound with an unhinged vocal style, absurd lyrics, and violent drums that are propelled by pitch bending guitars that stab and pulse against the beating kick drum. It was such a rush to see people vibing and dancing to the music I was playing—it made me realize I was exactly where I belonged. I’m all about versatility in my sets. I love mixing it up and playing a variety of genres, but Latin music holds a special place in my heart. In August 2024, I landed my first residency at Bald Kitty in Houston, where I host Latin Night. It’s been an amazing experience to create a space where people can come together and feel the rhythm of the music. On top of that, I also get to bring Latin beats to Boondocks every third Friday of the month, which is always a fun, high-energy vibe. project, ANDY, which saw its members relocate during lockdown.

On Pure Gluttony, he takes stock of his fears and defamiliarizes them. Puts them behind a strobing synth, the crash of the drums, a vocal pitch-shifted into oblivion.
Before Pure Gluttony, there were a handful of prior releases. Two full lengths — one released when Katz was still functionally a teenager, the other released in 2021. He cut his chops as a touring drummer, most notably for Nick Rattigan’s Current Joys. He lived in Los Angeles, then moved to New York to hone his craft. He tightened Brutus VIII live performances, becoming an absolutely remarkable presence on stage. Pure Gluttony is the distillation of hard work. It captures what is so indelible about Katz’s live set.
